I started a petition to urge Birmingham City Council to make repairs to the historic Lodge House in Handsworth Park which has been vacant for years and recently suffered a serious of damaging break-ins.
350+ people have signed it already but yesterday the Councillor Quinnen told me that BCC will be selling the building off at auction.
This building could be generating long-term income for our community, but now it’s going in a firesale of assets. Who knows who will end up owning it? What protections will we have to maintain this icon of the Park?
Please sign the petition today by clicking here.
So what is councillor Quinnen going to do.? Will she be fighting this decision or do nothing. Will St Marys Church which is next to the park be helping to overturn this decision. We need more support.
