Clean-up on Grove Lane

Down in the dip on Grove Lane, opposite the park entrance, this is where the rubbish collects, falling downhill from both directions and getting stuck.

All of these packets, cans, bottles and wrappers (and a few unpleasant used items!) were mixed in with decaying leaves from last autumn that was home to a huge number of worms. Goodness knows what they thought of the rubbish being added…

It took two of us just over a half hour to remove all the rubbish in five bin bags. It’s the inevitable result of there being not enough bins, not enough street cleaning, and not enough respect for our neighbourhood.

Until then, we’ll keep going with the bin bags and grabbers to try cleaning up this community!

If you’d like to get involved or recommend a street for cleaning, click the Contact tab and drop me an email.
